The 'CAIRN TERRIERS OF NEW ZEALAND' site is owned by a group of serious dedicated breeders whose main goals are to produce healthy, quality true to type Cairn Terriers.
They have spent countless hours over the years learning not only about the breed; but in breeding, training and exhibiting their dogs.
With no dedicated Cairn Terrier club in New Zealand, they believe there is a need for an info-site where others can see more, read more, and learn about the breed and so this website has evolved.
In this site you will find a lot of information on the characteristics and care of the Cairn Terrier which may help you decide if one of these lovely, spunky little dogs would be just right for your family.
All members of the group will be happy to answer questions and refer you to responsible breeders in your area.
Click on the name of the site-owners below to contact them.
On the SITE MAP, you will see what is planned for the site.
The owners (listed at bottom of this page) are happy to receive suggestions for further content and would love other NZKC Reg Cairn Breeders to participate in this project with them. Do contact them for more details

VALE On 25th September 2013 Kathy Kilpatrick (Ballathie), a foundation owner of this website, lost her very brave battle with cancer and slipped away at home with her family present. Kathy was dedicated to her cairns and strived to breed the best. She imported new bloodlines from Australia and Britain to increase the gene pool here in New Zealand so has left a lasting legacy.
We will miss Kathy ringside and the “Cairn conversations” we had at shows. Rest in Peace Kathy.
